DEAD MAN RUNNING - THE FILM
DEAD MAN RUNNING completed principal photography on Tuesday 23rd December 2008 following a 5 week shoot on location in London. The film is produced for Dead Mann Running Limited by Nicholas ‘Pikki’ Fearon, co-produced by Alan Latham and Tom Matinson, written and directed by Alex de Rakoff.
Tamer Hassan (LAYER CAKE, THE BUSINESS, FOOTBALL FACTORY) plays Nick Kane, a man with 24 hours to find ₤100,000, alongside Danny Dyer (ADULTHOOD, THE BUSINESS, HUMAN TRAFFIC) who plays Bing, his trusted best friend. American rap star, Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson (GET RICH OR DIE TRYIN’, RIGHTEOUS KILL), is Mr Thigo, a powerful New York gangster out to make an example of Nick and ‘punters’ like him.
Established British actress, Brenda Blethyn (SECRETS AND LIES, SAVING GRACE, PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, ATONEMENT) plays Nick’s streetwise mum, and Monet Mazur (STONED, MONSTER-IN-LAW, BLOW) is Frankie, Nick’s long suffering but faithful girlfriend.
When it becomes apparent that the recession is hitting the criminal world as hard as it is hitting Wall Street, notorious New York gangster and loan shark, Mr Thigo arrives in London to shake things up and make an example out of one of his late payers.
Already struggling financially, reformed ex- con Nick is given exactly 24 hours to come up with the £100,000 left on his bill or he is a DEAD MAN RUNNING. As a guarantee, Thigo’s men hold Nick’s wheelchair-bound mum hostage, leaving him no choice but to comply. Enlisting the help of his best mate, Bing, the boys embark on a frantic race against the clock. Their mission takes them from the dog tracks of East London to the underground drug scene of rural Manchester as they try every trick and scam in the book to get the cash before it’s too late.

DEAD MAN RUNNING LTD is based in Wardour Street, Soho and the Producers are delighted to announce that the company has signed a deal with Pathe to distribute the film in the UK. The deal was concluded on behalf of the producers by Simon Barnes (Head of Film Sales) and Jim Howell (Chief Executive) of Park Entertainment. Park holds worldwide sales rights in the film. DEAD MAN RUNNING will receive its World Premiere in Cannes in May.
